This just in: Kenwood is re-entering the amateur radio market for all categories. Retooling underway.
This was direct from Kenwood America representatives at Dayton Hamvention. They have heavy plans to get back into the market after they retool their fab. Kenwood is a large enough manufacturer to have their own actual build house, since they are into many other markets aside from Two Way Radio communications, unlike iCom and Yaesu. I expect a
fresh coat of paint of the 890, 590SG, and the TM-D700A. They were showcasing the THD75A, which is just a respin of the 74 with a couple features added, and a new chipset due to them having to switch semiconductor manufacturers after the AKM fire.
